Roger Knight
President

Roger Knight has been a Senior Aviation Maintenance Technician with FedEx Express Air Operations for over twenty years. Led the PVD ASC/FAAST team since 1996. Initiated the development of the Aviation Education and Career EXPO, an annual EXPO that introduces high school students to the various career fields within aviation. Team lead for the annual Rhode Island MS Society Jet Pull at PVD. Serving on the Board of Directors for Oriol Healthcare and Lincoln Heights Real Estate Inc. since 1988.

 

Robert Adelizzi
Treasurer

Bob Adelizzi has been an air traffic controller at Boston TRACON for twenty five years and affiliated with the safety program for over twenty. He has briefed thousands of general aviation pilots as well as crews from corporate flight departments and regional airlines. Since 2001 he has been recognized numerous times by the Boston FSDO for his work with the safety program. In June of 2006 he received the Eastern Region FAA Safety Team Representative of the Year Award.

 

Gary M. Arber Esq
Secretary

Gary Arber is an attorney who practiced law for twenty-eight years in the private practice of law with a concentration in aviation law, and he now serves as Vice President and General Counsel of Alpha Flying, Inc., an aircraft fractional ownership program and management company based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  He is a graduate of Brandeis University, and he attended Boston College Law School and Case-Western Reserve University Law School.  He holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Single Engine Land and Instrument-Airplane ratings with over 800 hours of flying time.

Russell S. Arena

Russell Arena is the Chief Pilot for a Fortune 500 Corporate Flight Department. He has been in aviation for thirty – two years and has been an Aviation Safety Counselor for the Boston FSDO for twenty- five years. Russ was the president and one of the founding members of the Aviation Safety Group of Massachusetts. He is an ATP with six type ratings and has logged more than 11,000 flight hours.

 

David A. Belcher

Dave Belcher is a Commercial Pilot and Instructor with more than 2000 flying hours.  He holds Airplane, Instructor and Instrument ratings in Single and Multi Engine Aircraft and has 30 years experience in aviation.  When not flying, Dave is a Marketing Specialist for Coto Technology in Warwick RI.

 

Robert Berlyn

Bob Berlyn has four decades of flying experience, three decades as a flight instructor, with 13,000 hours of flight time. He holds an ATP pilot certificate and several type ratings. A flight instructor since 1976 he has deep roots in the GA community, holds a Master CFI designation, and was awarded Flight Instructor of the Year 2005 from the Boston FSDO, and Outstanding Safety Councilor in 2004. A graduate of Thomas Edison State College, Bob has served as an airline pilot, air carrier manager as well as a volunteer to his community as a fire commissioner managing an annual budget of over two million dollars.

 

Eugene A. Bielecki

Gene Bielecki is an ATP and holds the following ratings: airplane single engine land and sea, airplane multiengine land and gliders. He is an advanced ground instructor, flight instructor, designated pilot examiner, and a very active safety counselor for the Boston FSDO. Gene sponsors and organizes safety seminars and encourages all who attend to participate in the Pilot Proficiency Award Program.

 

Claire Bentley

Claire Bentley has accumulated 3000 hours flying everything from ultralights to multi-engine aircraft.  She was an examiner conducting flight tests in ultralights.(Sponsored by the Ultralight organization)  Ratings include CFI, CFII, Multi-Engine Instructor, and eventually CFI in ASES.  Claire has been associated with the FAA Safety program for more than 20 years, presenting/developing Safety Seminars and CFI Workshops in the local area. 

 

William Cuccinello

Bill Cuccinello, a CFII with over 7000 flying hours, land, sea, and gliders, is a graduate of Boston University, a veteran of the Marine Corps, editor of The Hanscom Beacon and a writer for several publications. He has been involved with the FAA Aviation Safety Program for over 15 years. Formerly president of MDK Allied Advertising Agency, he is currently CEO of Consulting Services, a management consulting firm.

 

Jim Mathieu

Jim Mathieu is the Manager of Airport Operations and Maintenance at Hanscom Field with the Massachusetts Port Authority. A position he has held since 1999. Prior to his employment at Bedford, Jim was the airport Manager at the Fitchburg Municipal Airport. He is a graduate of Wentworth Institute and holds a private pilot license.

 

Kenneth J. MacDonald

Ken MacDonald has flown for corporate and 135 operators in Piper Aztecs, Islanders, Turbo Commanders, Cheyenne III, and King Air 350’s aircraft. He has served as an accident prevention counselor, an aviation safety counselor, and now is a FAASTeam Representative. He holds a Masters Degree in Behavioral Science with a focus on human error in aviation. Ken has presented many safety seminars on Runway Incursions and Runway Safety.
